Schick Quattro – official promotional website. They’re both excellent razors, and I think most will be happy with either one. The real question, I suppose, is which is better: the Quattro or the Mach 3? Personally, I can’t determine enough of a difference between the two at this point to give it to one or the other. Overall, the Schick Quattro is an excellent razor, and I can definitely recommend it. The Schick Quattro manages to be more expensive than the Gillette Mach 3, which is already an expensive razor. Our Quattro Refills provide a consistent, clean shave with 4 titanium-coated. The blades cleaned out pretty easily, so there wasn’t any ‘gunk’ causing problems either. Shaves were very close, and I didn’t have problems with difficult areas. ![]() The quality of the shaves I got with the Quattro were excellent. It may be working, since I didn’t notice any nicks while shaving. I believe the intention is to reduce the possibility of nicks, as the wires will prevent the blades from “digging in” to the skin. The Quattro has 8 thin, nearly invisible wires running perpendicular to the blades, very much like the ones that come with the Schick Protector. This may not make much difference, but it’s interesting. That’s different from most of the razors I’ve used they usually put the comfort strips at the back. The razor cartidge has the ‘comfort strip’ at the front edge, before the blades. The cartridge pivots easily the pivot point makes some noise occasionally, which I found a little distracting, but it didn’t affect the performance of the razor. It holds the razor cartridge very firmly, so I didn’t have any problems with the cartridge coming loose (which has happened occasionally with the Gillette Mach 3). The handle is pretty solid and feels reasonably comfortable to use. As yet another salvo in the ongoing shaving war between Schick and Gillette, it’s been heavily hyped in a strong media campaign. ![]() The Schick Quattro is, at this writing, the only 4-blade cartridge razor on the market.
